After a bit of walking, they finally found a restaurant. "Whew... I'm starving. Let's go order some food," he said, walking up to the counter to see what they had to serve. He eventually decided on just a plain cheeseburger and fries.

Ayumi looked at the menu. She was undecisive on what she wanted. She studied the menu carefully and started to decide but the process was very slow. She continued to look at the menu slowly and remain undecisive.

Joshua saw her struggling to decide on what to get to eat, so he just ordered the same for her - a cheeseburger and fries. He handed her meal to her, saying, "Here, eat this since you can't decide. I don't know many people who don't like cheeseburgers." He then sat down at a table, motioning for her to do the same, and starting to eat.

Ayumi followed his motions. She sat down across from him and began eating. She felt like this was a date.
If he mentioned anything about that, she would probably blush.

Joshua finished up, satisfied with a full stomach. He then looked around, and noticed that the place was rather empty. As he got up to throw his trash away, though, a few people walked in - including the little boy from earlier. When the boy saw Joshua and Ayumi, he laughed and looked at the man, most likely his father, and said rather loudly, "Look! It's the people I told you about earlier! They're probably out on a date." Joshua then blushed slightly, but did nothing except return to the table, avoiding Ayumi's gaze again.

Ayumi looked at the people who spoke. "You need to watch what you say." Ayumi replied. "That mouth of yours will get you in trouble one day and it might be today." She went back to her food. She wanted to finish it and leave, but she couldn't eat too fast, so she would eat at normal speed, waiting to see if that boy would speak again.

The boy huffed, and again talked to his father. "They're grumpy people, the boy yelled at me earlier," he said, which caused the father to glare at Joshua, who hurriedly defended himself. "I did not! He woke me up!" he said, still rather flustered. On the inside, he was trying to decide whether this WAS a date or not, having never gotten so close to anyone, especially someone he had just met.

"Grumpy, are we?" Ayumi asked. "None of this would have happened if you had just kept your mouth shut in the first place." This was the first time she had been angry in a long time. Normally, it would have taken a long time to get angry, but this boy got her angry real quick.

The boy finally took a hint, and walked away, followed by his parents. Joshua followed them with his eyes until they reached the counter, and then turned back to Ayumi. "So... what are we going to do once you're done eating?" he asked.

"I don't know. " she replied. "What do you want to do?" Ayumi continued to eat her food, so they could leave the restaurant and go somewhere else.

"Well, I haven't really thought about it. All I've done since I've gotten here is duel anyone I find," Joshua said, looking at his duel disk. He sighed, getting up. "I'll wait outside," he said, walking out and standing near the doorway.

"Okay." Ayumi responded. She continued to eat and within a few minutes, she finished. She threw away her trash and met Josh at the door.

Joshua looked around as Ayumi exited the building, trying to think of something to pass the time. He eventually got an idea. "Why don't we go see if there's any dueling tournaments coming up? Maybe your deck will be finished before it starts," he said, leading the way back into the city.

Ayumi followed his lead again, holding the box close to her. "We can do that, but I'm not sure my deck will be finished by then."

"Oh. Well, I still need to check, I can't become a pro if I don't duel in official tournaments," he said, looking at all the people that they passed. Any one of them could be a future opponent, another obstacle to overcome. Now that he thought about it... he looked at Ayumi briefly, but then snapped his gaze back forwards. What would happen if he had to duel her to move ahead? 'I'll just cross that bridge when I come to it...' he thought.

"Is that why you duel a lot?" she asked. If her cards were done by the time her deck was finished, she could enter and try to win, but she wasn't sure of herself and her ability to compete in a tournament.
"What deck are you going to use?" Ayumi asked.

"Yeah, that's the whole reason I came here," he said, pulling out his deck and flipping through it. When she asked what kind of deck he used, he handed it to her. "It's a series of cards known as the Dark World, they're really good," he said.

"I never heard of them, what do they do?" Ayumi asked, her full attention at Josh, waiting for his explanation or explanations.

"Well, you know how it gets annoying when you have to discard your hand? With these, discard is good. They have certain effects, and some even get special summoned when you discard them," he explained.

"Like through which cards?" she asked. "Costs don't work, do they?" This was a whole new type to her, so she wanted as much information as she could get.

"No, it only works if you're told, by word, to 'discard'. That's it," Joshua said, pointing to one of the cards - Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World. The effect read: 'If this card is discarded from the hand to the Graveyard by a card effect, Special Summon this card to your side of the field.' He tapped where it said discard, solidifying his point.

"It looks like they can swarm from you're telling me." she said. "So, by discarding them, you can Special Summon them."
If they could do that, then they must have some good effects. "Do they have any effects, besides the swarm factor?"

"Yeah, there's ones that destroy monsters, let you draw, and one that even clears your opponent's field of either monsters or spells and traps," he said. "If only we could find someone to duel, I could show you..." he stated.

"They don't have to be discarded by opponent's effect at all for their effects?" she asked, getting more information.
If anything, her deck would be powerful with a lot of negations of her own cards. Until they were done, she would observe more duels.

"Not all of them, some of them do. That's why I have... these," Joshua said, pulling out a card called 'Dark Deal'. "They negate an opponent's spell card and change it to where I have to discard a card. And since it counts as their card making me discard, I get to activate those effects."

"Tell me more." Ayumi replied. This was a good piece of information she was getting. It helped her understand what the Dark World monster could actually do and what she could do to protect herself from their harmful effects.

"Well, there's only one downside from what I've seen. If a card is played that removes cards in the graveyard from play, then I can't activate their effects, so it basically destroys the whole deck," Josh said.

"Oh, so like a removal deck would make your deck useless?" Ayumi asked. She always did seem to ask a lot of questions because she had nothing she could explain, which was always a downside for her.

"Yeah, basically," he said. He then decided it was time to change it up. "So what kind of cards are you getting?" he asked.
